HER Sober House A safe, structured home for women rebuilding a life in recovery.

Support HER Sober House

We are a new, Fredericton-based organization working to open a sober living home for women. Reach out if you are interested in helping.

Our organization is legally incorporated as a provincial non-profit company in New Brunswick, and we are preparing our application to become a Registered Charity with the CRA. Until that is approved, we cannot issue tax receipts, and no donation platform will take us on — so we are not collecting donations through this website yet.

Get in touch and we will tell you what stage we are at and what would actually help right now.

Ways to help

  • Give financially

Financial support now helps us secure and open our first house. Get in touch and we will tell you exactly where the money would go and what stage we are at.

  • Sponsor a room or a month

Businesses and community groups can underwrite a specific cost - a room, a month of utilities, a set of furnishings - rather than giving into a general fund.

  • Volunteer your time

Trades, bookkeeping, governance, driving, or simply showing up on a work weekend. Tell us what you do and we will tell you whether we need it yet.

  • Donate goods or services

Furniture, appliances, household goods, or professional services. Please ask before sending anything - we do not have anywhere to store donations yet.

  • Host or support an event

Fundraisers, awareness evenings, or a collection at something you are already running.

  • Something else

If it does not fit any of the above, say so in your message. We would rather hear an odd offer than miss a good one.

Where the money is meant to go

We are legally incorporated as a non-profit company, but not yet a Registered Charity with the CRA, so this is a statement of intent rather than a financial report. Once that status is approved, this page becomes reporting.

  • Rent, utilities, and insurance for the house.
  • Furnishing and maintaining the rooms and common areas.
  • Subsidising fees for residents who cannot cover them.
  • The minimum administration needed to run the house properly.

We are not yet a Registered Charity with the CRA and cannot issue tax receipts. We are not collecting payments through this website, and we will not ask you for money by email. If someone claiming to be HER Sober House asks you to send funds, please contact us before you do anything.
